The Australian Championship is a SECOND IATF Major Tournament across this big weekend, making it not only another chance to go head-to-head with the best axe throwers in our region but also another opportunity to claim a coveted bid into the 2026 International Axe Throwing Championships (IATC), with trickle down in effect from the Battle Axe Open the day before.

The Under 55 Premier Average Tournament is the place where rising stars in our community take center stage! ​

• Seeded, Single Elimination

 

Random Seeding Matches into a Single Elimination bracket, that all players qualify for.

The number of random seeing matches will be between 3-5, to be determined by the final number of competitors registered in the event. 

Giving each competitor a minimum of 4-6 matches with their registration fee.

Under 55 Average Rules:

• Entry is only allowed to players with an IATF Premier match average of 55.0 points or under, as listed on their Axescores profile in the ‘Current Year’ filter at the time of ticket purchase.

• If you do not have a Premier average score, minus 10 points from your 'Last 12 Months' Standard average score for conversion.

IATF MAJOR Marquee Tournament Information:

• As a sanctioned IATF MAJOR Marquee Tournament, 1st place will receive an automatic bid into the 2026 International Axe Throwing Championships (IATC).

• 2nd and 3rd place will receive automatic entry into an IATF GRAND SLAM event within the following 12 months.

• If the winner has already secured a bid into 2026 IATC or opts out of 2026 IATC participation, the prize bid will trickle down to the next highest placing player who is eligible.
