Battle Axe Throwing is hosting two classic IATF 'Skillz' competitions with cash and prizes on the line on Sunday the 24th of September, the first of their kind in Australia!
A 1.5x rotation, IATF Premier Rules 'Blackjack' open tournament in the morning and an IATF Premier rules 'Doubles' open tournament in the afternoon.
TOURNAMENT ONE: 1.5x BLACKJACK
Ticket Price: $40pp
Time: 10:00am – 3:00pm

Tournament Format:

‘Pool Play’ format
Every competitor will have a minimum of 3 matches with their registration fee
Blackjack Rules:
-
10 throws to hit as close to 21 total points as possible without going bust!
-
Normal IATF scoring zones in play with the additional rules that sticking an axe outside of the target but on the board scores 0 points and an axe drop scores -4 points.

Players must take all 10 throws.

If you go bust, you lose.

Closest to 21 points wins.
Tiebreakers:
-
Hitting 21 points in the least number of scoring throws (Most 0 point throws) wins.
TOURNAMENT TWO: DOUBLES
Ticket Price: $80 (per team)
Time: 4:00pm – 9:00pm
Prize pool: $500 (1st $250, 2nd $150, 3rd $100) + Merch & Sponsor Prizes (+ Prizes for Best Dressed Team!)

Tournament Format:

‘Pool Play’ format.
Every competitor will have a minimum of 3 matches with their registration fee
Doubles Rules:
-
The normal IATF throwing rule set but with a partner!
-
Scores for both thrown axes are totalled each throw.
-
Both throwers must throw approximately in sync with each other.
-
If an axe sticks into a partner's axe aka ‘Robin Hooding’, the score of the axe attached to the target is doubled.
-
On the fifth throw of each round both, one or neither competitors may elect to go up for a Clutch.
Tiebreakers:

Doubles Big Axe following the above and normal IATF rules.
Pool Play Tournament Format:
The tournament starts with a ‘Group Stage’, where players are divided into groups of 4 and play everyone in their Group once, totalling three matches within their Group in a best 2 rounds out of 3 match format before any elimination takes place. Once all Group Stage matches are complete the top 2 from each Group move onto a single elimination tournament bracket.
