That is a wrap on BAT Outta Hell 2026, our International Axe Throwing Federation (IATF) Major Tournament Weekend in Wollongong.

BAT Outta Hell brought competitors together from across Australia and beyond for four days of competitive axe throwing, community some incrediable axe throwing!

Almost every event sold out, with over 270+ competitors taking part across the weekend (including competitors travelling from all over Australia to throw at Battle Axe Throwing! Whoa!).

People come to Battle Axe Throwing to chase a new personal best, support their mates, meet their peers from different venues and compete against some of the best throwers in Australia.

This is exactly why we're so passionate about axe throwing as a competitive sport.

Four days of competitive Axe Throwing

BAT Outta Hell 2026 featured eight events across four days, with a packed schedule covering a huge range of the IATF competition format.

The weekend included the BAT Outta Hell, Australia's only Women & Non-Binary IATF Major, alongside Big Axe, Doubles, Under 55 Premier Average, Australia's first sanctioned Ambidextrous axe throwing competition, our 'Always Be Clutching' - ABC Open, Yahtzee and a Battle Axe Throwing favourite, Bucket of Axes.

Bucket of Axes

And finally, we finished the weekend with one of the Battle Axe Throwing classics, Bucket of Axes.

A crowd favourite, a collection of Australian-made axes and a whole lot of good fun! This is a twist on the traditional bucket of axes at Battle Axe Throwing. We want to put makers axes into people's hands to see who can adapt the quickest in an Around The World competition. This is a great way to promote the local marker scene with a random twist on top!
